I started drawing my heart characters in the summer of 2016. While I have always liked drawing and painting, I had no concrete style or recurring motif. That particular summer however, my emotions felt out of sorts and I was inspired to draw what I imagined my heart would say. Much of what I created stemmed from heartbreak and turned into a reflection of how I saw myself and what I was feeling. My style has evolved and progressed but I have grown attached to the hearts and they have since become a staple of my art. Characteristics like the horns and wings came with time and after certain experiences contributed to my being. As I grow and change, so do my characters.
